Who's behind the action
RETSAE Dorper Sheep Stud is a passionately run, family business owned and operated by Troy and Tracie Easter.
Situated in Bindoon, we take pride in our high-quality stud Dorpers and also run our commercial blueberry orchard. Bindoon is about 50 minutes north of Perth and is located in the Chittering Valley. With cold wet winters and hot summers, our Dorpers thrive in the environment.
Tracie is a medical scientist and personally handles the research and breeding programs, that she has carefully designed to be in the best interest if the sheep and production of the best quality Dorpers. Where Troy handles the more practical side of things on the farm.

How it started
Prior to becoming part of the industry of farming, we wanted a breed that was easy to look after and had favorable behavioral attributes. This is why we picked Dorpers.
We were living in the city, working full time jobs and only really visited the farm on weekends. However, since 1999 I have been working the farm full time and I'm still glad I made the change.
What we're doing now
We line-breed our Dorpers that are then selected to match breeding standards with high epshais on qualities such as high growth rates, good lambing percentages, temperament, hardiness, and shedding.
Our rams have very good temperament as well as high growth rates. As for our ewes, they have good nurturing qualities and have the ability to produce high lambing percentages.
